Bathroom colors for cozy ambience

In terms of color design, the bathroom can basically go completely different ways than the color concept of the rest of the rooms in the apartment, after all, playful fixtures or high-gloss ceramics offer different opportunities to integrate great color accents. Nevertheless, the bathroom should primarily be a place where rest and relaxation can be found. Soothing color tones, for example, provide a particularly cozy ambience. However, the perception of which colors are actually considered soothing and cozy varies greatly from person to person. If a bathroom is shared by several residents, compromises are often made in the form of neutral colors. Nevertheless, with regard to the color concept in the bathroom, individuality can also be deliberately put into focus and extraordinary creations can be created. Which color ideas can be implemented in the bathroom particularly great and thus provide a unique ambience in the room, shows the following article.

Taking into account the individual circumstances

. Which colors conjure up a cozy and inviting ambience in the bathroom is particularly dependent on what potential the individual circumstances offer. If it is a small room without daylight, too strong and dark colors for the walls are hardly recommended, because the bathroom then quickly appears oppressive and anything but cozy. However, if you do not want to do without your absolute favorite color despite the limited space available, one option is to paint only a certain area of the wall in it, for example. After all, it is not absolutely necessary to design all the walls in the same color. However, if the home bathroom is a room that offers a lot of space and light, the color design can certainly be bolder. Even from black walls can then emanate an extraordinary elegance and coziness.

Stylish color coordination in the bathroom

. To find a suitable color scheme for the bathroom, it is important to first determine your own style. The same color can have quite different effects in the bathroom depending on the style, whether rustic, modern or vintage. This can be attributed, among other things, to the textures and materials used that suit the particular style. Thus, the color concept should be defined only after the desired style has been determined. For example, a bathroom that is to shine in a Mediterranean style benefits particularly from natural colors and light pastel shades. Vintage bathrooms, on the other hand, can be very well enhanced with green color accents.

The right combination of colors in the bathroom

. The biggest challenge of a harmonious color design in the bathroom is definitely the perfect combination of individual colors. If only one color is used in the bathroom, it often looks bland and boring, however, too many different shades often lead to the room looking restless and cluttered. Therefore, it is helpful to follow some basic rules regarding the color combination. It is ideal to choose one main color for the bathroom and then combine it with one or two secondary colors. If three or even more colors are used, this can already prove to be problematic. With regard to the exact selection of colors, again, there are three different options.

Bathroom in monochrome style

. If a monochrome style is desired in the bathroom, it is characterized by the use of only a single color. However, by using it in different degrees of saturation and brightness, an exciting variety is created. For example, in modern bathrooms today, gray is often chosen as the basic color for the monochrome color concept.

Bathroom with analog color concept

. Within the framework of an analogous color concept, on the other hand, similar color tones are combined with each other, which are close to each other in the color wheel. For example, one possibility for this is the combination of brown and gray, which provides a cozy ambience. In addition, other natural colors are also very suitable for the analog color concept, such as brown in combination with pastel green.

Contrasting color design of the bathroom

. If it is decided to make the bathroom contrasting, for this purpose colors are selected that are very different from each other, so ideally complementary colors. Colors can hardly be combined with each other in a more exciting way. For example, a great idea for such a bathroom design is the variant of combining wood tones with turquoise. Bathrooms in black and white, of course, represent the greatest possible contrast. Through this combination of colors basically arises the advantage that it is exceedingly easy to realize and fits almost all styles, whether modern, rustic or vintage.

Combine natural stone and wood to the colors

. Materials from nature, such as natural stone or wood, are characterized by their natural color schemes, which is why they can be perfectly combined with natural colors. However, with regard to the possible color combinations, wood in this case basically offers a very generous scope, so that with a wooden interior in terms of color selection can hardly be committed serious mistakes. More cautiously should be proceeded against it with natural stone. After all, the beautiful stones should also look good in their own right, which is why strong colors should not be used right next to them. Bathrooms with natural stone look particularly inviting and cozy if they are combined with colors that can also be found in the stone itself. Nevertheless, of course, the individual style should always be taken into account. If there is enough courage to dare something extravagant in the bathroom design, natural stone can be combined with green walls, for example. In principle, however, the decision as to which color concept fits best in the individual bathroom should always be made primarily according to one's own personal taste. After all, the effect of colors is perceived differently by each person, so that one's own sense of comfort is always the decisive factor. Fig.: jennyfriedrichs/pixabay.com
